Fundraising Dinner

Attendees eat some steak to support the Humane Society of Chittenden County.

Attendees get the inside scoop on diary farming and cheese making with a demonstration of farmhouse cheddar production.

Introduction to HACCP

A Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan is a regulatory requirement for processing some food products, but recently, more food buyers are requiring these plans to be in place. This workshop gives producers the basics for instating such a plan.

Propagating Mystery: Saving Seeds for Food & the Future

Sylvia Davatz discusses the importance of saving the not-so-typical seeds before attendees eat a delectable localvore lunch. A tour of Shelburne Farm’s Market Garden follows lunch.

Historic recipes get a revival as folks learn how heirloom garden veggies become seasonal dishes in the farmhouse kitchen.
